My Assumptions

Before starting my research, as someone familiar with the challenges of public speaking, especially for users whose first language isn’t English, I outlined assumptions about the potential difficulties users might face when trying to improve their speaking skills for interviews or presentations. These assumptions helped me plan and focus my research for the next stages.

User Testing and Insights

After creating the paper prototypes, I conducted usability testing with two users to gather feedback.

  1. Key Findings:

    • The Progress page was not as important as initially thought. Users preferred focusing on practicing exercises, recording their voice, and receiving feedback.

    • Users naturally tracked their progress by reviewing the history of their recordings, making the dedicated progress page redundant.

  2. Design Adjustments:

    • Introduced a Home page featuring the key functions of the app for quicker access.

    • Added a search option to the Interview Library to improve navigation and user experience.
